JOSH WEATHERSPOON, LEAD PASTOR

Once a California boy, Josh now calls Virginia home since the Air Force relocated him here in 2000. Josh knew a good thing when he saw it and married Racheal in 2002. 
 
Josh served as a career firefighter for 15 years and has been involved in ministry within the local church since 2006. God called Josh away from firefighting in 2015 to serve in full-time pastoral ministry. Josh, in 2020, followed the Lord's leading in planting The Way Church and continues to serve on staff as the Lead Elder of the church. 
 
Josh and Racheal both share a passion to see all people receive the life-giving hope and love that comes from experiencing Jesus. They firmly believe that God is going to use The Way Church to make disciples that reach the nations with the gospel, beginning here in RVA.
       

ANDY BALTHASER, PASTOR

Andy grew up in Cartersville, Virginia where his father pastored Cartersville Baptist Church. He eventually moved to Goochland County, Virginia where he met his then high school girlfriend and now amazing wife, Kim; whom he very wisely married in 1999.

Andy was ordained into the deacon ministry in 2010 at Salem Baptist Church in Goochland County where he helped shoulder the shepherding responsibilities of the church in many capacities. He and his family joined Pastor Josh in 2019, helping to plant The Way Church. Andy now serves as a lay Elder of the church.

Andy and Kim along with their two terrific daughters love the Lord and have devoted their life to serving the Lord; evidenced through many years of faithful ministry within the local church and by their active involvement in seeing disciples made from the West End to the ends of the earth.

LUKE JOHNSON, STUDENTS DIRECTOR

Luke was born and raised in the small town of Hillsville, Virginia with 3 brothers and two Jesus-loving parents. Growing up, Luke was passionate about playing basketball and played competitively from 3rd grade until his sophomore year of college at Union College in Kentucky. 

Luke and his wonderful wife, Leah, have committed their lives to sacrificially following Jesus and are passionate about seeing others do the same.
