WHY A RESIDENCY?
The Church is God’s plan for reaching the world. Here in the RVA area and around the world, godly and gifted men and women are needed to lead and serve within the local church in order to see lives changed by the gospel. The Way Church Residency exists to equip and mobilize future ministry leaders and missionaries.
WHAT IS A RESIDENCY?
The Way Church Residency is a 1-2 year program in which each resident will be a full-time member of The Way Church Staff Team. Assigned areas of ministry will depend on each resident's track, giftings, passions, and areas of need within The Way Church. We recommend that each resident take 2-3 seminary classes each semester. With that, we have built into each resident's schedule time to complete seminary studies and assignments.
MINISTRY TRACK
We care for, serve, and lead the church with excellence because Jesus gave himself for the church. In the Ministry Track, residents will be placed in an areas of ministry within the church based on their giftings, passions, and areas of need. Residents will be given meaningful responsibility, incredible learning experiences as a member of the church staff team, and have the opportunity to gain a theological education. This track is for those with little or no theological education and vocational ministry experience.
PASTORAL TRACK
The America church has a shortage of qualified men to lead and serve as pastors. For men sensing a calling to pastoral ministry, this track will serve you well. Through sound theological training and hands-on ministry experience; the aim of this track is to help equip residents to become pastors who care well for the local church. This track is similar in many ways to the Ministry Track with the main difference being, an emphasis on Eldership training. This track is for those who do have some theological education and ministry experience.
MISSIONARY TRACK
The need for God's glory to be made known and the gospel to be advanced among the nations is great. The question resounds throughout scripture; who will go? If you're sensing a call to be sent among the nations for the sake of the gospel, this track may be for you. This track is designed to help with discernment, aid in your equipping, all the while providing hands-on ministry and missionary training and experiences. This track is for those with little or no theological education and vocational ministry experience.
